Edmund Waller Key Stage Results 2024
If you thought 22/23 results were good - here come this year’s. We are incredibly proud of our children’s results (again) this year and thought we would share the headlines with the community. Below you will see the school’s results for all the statutory data points mapped out against the performance of children across the country. We are very pleased to say that in every measured area we are above the national levels of attainment.
We felt it important for the children here to experience and be part of the election fever that has swept the country. We took it seriously, We had ballot boxes, returning officers, lanyards, voting forms - the whole shebang! Each class became a ‘constituency’, with candidates from Y5 - representing the entire political spectrum - taking the campaign to the classrooms. The children were absolutely fascinated by the process and seemed to absorb an incredible amount of information over the week. From universal suffrage to proportional representation, there was a lot of learning covered over the week.
We are delighted to announce that we will be open for a whole school exhibition of our work based around this year's Take One Picture. We will be open from 3:45pm - 5:30pm Friday 12th July.
This week, we enjoyed listening as the children proudly told us all about their learning. We had some time-telling, excellent examples of writing based on the Oscar Wilde tale, The Happy Prince and some fascinating facts about famous explorers - what a treat!
Apologies for the late posting - please enjoy the wonderful work we celebrated in our Recognition Assembly last Friday.
Just work from years 5 & 6 this week, as the year 4s are out on a trip. Enjoy!
Today's assembly was absolutely jam-packed with fantastic writing from across the curriculum. The focus was on the incredible progress the children have made with their handwriting and sentence structure.
Have a look at the fantastic work years 4,5 & 6 have been producing this week!
It was such a pleasure to witness the children proudly sharing their learning today. We talked a lot about not just doing 'the bare minimum' and our contributors gave us excellent examples of what happens when you demonstrate persistence and resilience!
It's been a while since the last one, so have a look at the work years 4, 5 & 6 have celebrated this week.
This week, Mr Absolom and 12 members of the school council attended a Housing Action Assembly, which took place outside City Hall.
For the school councillors, this was the culmination of a set of workshops, run by UCL undergraduates, which took place last half term. Within these sessions the children focused on the issue of housing and what constitutes a safe and healthy environment to grow up in. The children's work is included in the Housing Action report, which can be downloaded below.
