When we turned over the logs this morning we couldn’t believe what was living underneath….there were slugs, worms, wood lice, ants and some lovely big beatles.
We’re really motivated to make our own song sheets so that we can remember the lyrics to Singing in the Rain.
Lots of different characters arrived at nursery today, there were some Elsa’s, some Matildas, Batman, some pirates, Harry Potter, a butterfly, Pippi Longstocking, Adam’s Aquatic Adventure, a tiger, a policeman, Elmer, Belle, and some superheroes. We also had a really rock and roll princess. Well done everyone for making such an effort you all look fabulous.
We have another crop of mange tout to harvest and devour. Lots of talk about size, taste, flavour, and lots of opportunities to count as we’d left some to develop into peas.
To ensure that we get the best possible training for all staff, we have decided to take a second INSET day at the beginning of the the next academic year.

The EW PTA are very excited to announce that there will be a Summer Fair this year. Sadly, we are not quite ready to have parents and stalls on the school site BUT the canny PTA have come up with a solution.
This year, the summer fair will be a walking fair. Families will sign up to host a stall outside their homes and the PTA will provide a map for you to make your way round at your leisure.
There will be more details to follow soon – please use the links below to find out more:
Having had a discussion all about water yesterday, we kicked off our watery topic learning by exploring of concept of floating and sinking. We made predictions, observations and recorded our findings. We couldn’t believe what happened when we put in the pumice stone. I wonder if your child can explain what they saw.
Today we took the children to the pond to see our tadpoles and froglets off. We counted them as they came out of the little tank to begin their new life in the big pond. Because we had two tanks of tadpoles and froglets we were able to do this in the morning and the afternoon. We’ll really miss seeing them grow and change but we think they’ll be really happy in the Edmund Waller pond.
