At the moment we can only display one set of resources via the ‘Year 5 Remote Learning Hub’. So, for the time being, we are going to archive the past days’ resources here in this post.
You will be able to find the current day’s resources via the Year 5 learning hub button and then each day’s work will be archived in order here. This is for any of you who would like to access previous learning resources. The presentations that the teachers are using are available to download directly beneath each video.
We’ve been finding out about Diwali this week and we’ve been so busy, listening to stories about Rama and Sita, making our own Hindu temples, making clay pot Diyas and chapattis. We tasted poopadums and we listened to the story of Chapatti moon. We even read a Hindu inspired counting book called Engines Engines.
We are all getting excited here as Friday’s Children In Need approaches. The school will be writing to all parents/carers to explain how their child can participate and with some ideas about how to donate.
We are hoping that as many children as possible join in, have fun and raise a little money for those who need it most!
This week we have been finding out about Diwali. We know that Hindus people all over the world will be decorating their homes with flowers and Rangoli patterns and that Hindu people will also be visiting their temple.
We have decorated our playground with Rangoli patterns and we have made our own model of a Hindu temple. Outside we have been making clay diya pots.
We are really excited to unveil our new Remote Learning Hubs. These have been created so that all parents/carers and families have access to resources to support their child’s learning at home.
There is a dedicated hub for each year group. Here, you will find a video of the class teachers explaining what the children will be learning in the following week. There is also a downloadable document that supports the video and provides access to supporting websites.
These will be updated every Friday and we hope you take the time to dip in and have an explore.
To help us gauge impact and make improvements, we would like to ask you to take a moment to make a comment in the box below this post.
Thanks in advance for you cooperation and support.
