Enrichment
Edmund Waller runs a series of extended activities for our children both before and after school. These aim to be stimulating and exciting for the children and enhance the curriculum already offered by our school. They are led by professional educators, using high-quality resources. Where possible we also like to capitalise on the extensive outside space that the school has to offer; accordingly we organise and run a number of outdoor activities.
The range and variety of clubs changes on a termly basis but have included:
- Sporting Activities – multi-sports, football, cricket and netball.
- Music – Strings, Woodwind, Brass and Steel Pans.
- Languages – French and Spanish
- Extra-Curricular – Gardening Club, Secret Adventure Club.
The exact timetable and content of current clubs is available online or from Margaret Moon, in the School Office.
How to Apply
Our clubs are open to all children (but some are only suitable for children of a certain age). Before the end of each term, children are given a letter informing parents/carers about the range clubs on offer for the following term. All clubs need a certain number of attendees to be viable. However, most clubs are oversubscribed and we work hard to ensure that the places are allocated as fairly as possible. You will be informed if you are successful in gaining a place for your child. At this point, we will ask for payment (see below).
Fees
Most clubs carry a small charge. This is to cover payment of the tutor and insurance – the school does not make a profit from the clubs. We can only confirm you have a place once the club has been paid for. This is done via ParentPay and every family has their own account. If you have any difficulties with this or have mislaid your ParentPay login details, please contact the School Office. Failure to do this means that the place will be offered to the next person on the waiting list. If you are entitled to Free School Meals or Pupil Premium, then we may be able to support you with the payment.
