Lots of children were keen to help make the play dough this morning. They listened carefully to the instructions and helped to mix it all together.
Afterwards everyone helped to knead the play dough. It felt soft and warm.
I think there was a crocodile on the loose in the garden but luckily the children were so good at climbing it couldn’t catch them.
There was so much happening in the nursery garden this morning. Climbing, sliding, fishing, singing, dancing, and cycling.
We know how strange it is for parents not to be able to come on to the school site and regularly see their child’s class teacher and learning environment.
To try and give you all a flavour of what everyone’s first couple of weeks has been like, we will be posting a short film made be every class.
These short videos will feature the work that children have created as they delve into discovering more about their class name. Each class this year has been named after a unique habitat, or biome.
We are hoping to have these videos available by the end of this week.
The children have been really keen to explore stories in the outdoor book area, especially Charlie and Lola stories.

When we turned over a log in the garden we noticed it was a habitat for lots of different creatures. The children spotted a slug some worms and lots of wood lice.
There was a lot of discussion about how come the worm was so long but then we discovered it was two worms.
We are very proud of the education that our children get and the opportunities that every learner has access to in their time here at Edmund Waller.
We really want to share this with as many new families as possible and we have been receiving inquiries about how people can visit the school to see it for themselves.
Due to the times we currently live in, we cannot offer actual tours of our wonderful school. However, we are working on creating a virtual tour, which will give you a flavour of what we have on offer here.
